Environment

Reflection Desktop Pro version 16.0
Reflection Desktop for X version 16.0

Situation

When using the 64-bit version of the Installation Customization tool to create a companion installer package, the tool crashes. The 32-bit (x86) version of this utility is not affected by this issue.

Resolution

To fix this problem, apply Reflection Desktop 16.0 Update 1 to your administrative installation point:

  1. If you haven’t performed an administrative install on your installation point, use the setup.exe program to perform an administrative installation Reflection Desktop (see instructions at https://www.attachmate.com/documentation/reflection-desktop-v16/deployment-guide/data/t_32943.htm).

Note: If you have not performed an administrative installation with the setup tool, the update may not be able to apply the fix.

  1. From the Update 1 distribution image, run the self-extracting executable file and select “Apply to an Administrative installation.”

Note: Alternatively, you can apply the update using a command line as described under “Distribute Software Updates” in the Reflection Desktop Deployment Guide (https://www.attachmate.com/documentation/reflection-desktop-v16/deployment-guide/data/admin_maintain_distribute_updates_pr.htm).
