ActiveX Blocking Added to Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft announced via Security Bulletin MS14-051 that, beginning with Cumulative Security Update 2976627, out-of-date ActiveX controls will automatically be blocked. Users with Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is older than the JRE Security baseline will see warning prompts indicating that Java was blocked.
For details about this blocking, including screenshots of notifications and warnings, see http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2014/08/06/internet-explorer-begins-blocking-out-of-date-activex-controls.aspx.
For details about Security Bulletin MS14-051, see https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/MS14-051.
To determine the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Security Baseline JRE, see the Oracle release notes for your JRE. For example, for Java 7 Update 67 see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/7u67-relnotes-2251330.html.
How Do I Prevent the Internet Explorer Security Warning?
The safest and easiest method to prevent the prompting is by updating the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on your clients to the latest Java version. Java can be updated at http://www.java.com.
Alternatively, add your server to the Trusted Sites Zone in Internet Explorer.
