Technical Note 2330
Last Reviewed 11-Apr-2008
Applies To
Reflection for the Web 2008 (All Editions)
BEA WebLogic version 10.0
Summary

This technical note explains how to configure BEA WebLogic to work with Reflection for the Web's management server replication feature.

Note: This technical note assumes that you already have Reflection for the Web deployed as an application on the BEA WebLogic Server. For details about Deploying Reflection for the Web on BEA WebLogic, see Technical Note 2332.

Configure BEA WebLogic to Work with Reflection Replication

For BEA WebLogic Server to handle the Reflection for the Web replication communication, the user name and password configured in Reflection for the Web and in the Reflection application instance in the BEA WebLogic Server must match.

Note: The user name and password format used by BEA WebLogic is <user name>:<password>. For example, RwebReplication:bluebell. You must use this format in both BEA WebLogic and Reflection for the Web.

Configure WebLogic

To edit the user name and password in BEA WebLogic, follow these general steps.

  1. Access the WebLogic Administrator Console and select Security Realms in the left pane.
  2. In the main pane, select the realm that is controlling the Reflection for the Web application.
  3. Select Users and Groups > Users.
  4. Select the user account set up for Reflection (or add a new user account for Reflection).
  5. On the Passwords tab, enter the password.

Note: This <user name>:<password> combination must be used in both BEA WebLogic and Reflection for the Web.

  1. Click Save.

Configure Reflection

To edit the password in Reflection for the Web, follow these steps.

  1. Open the Reflection for the Web Administrative WebStation.
  2. On the left-navigation menu, select Settings.
  3. On the Replication tab, enter the <user name>:<password> combination in the "Change shared passphrase" and "confirm shared passphrase change" fields.

Note: This <user name>:<password> combination must be used in both BEA WebLogic and Reflection for the Web.

  1. Click Save Settings.

For further information about configuring the Reflection for the Web replication, see Technical Note 2174.
