This technical note describes Attachmate product support for the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 platform and lists the known issues.

Attachmate Product Version Support on the Windows Server 2008 R1 Platform

Windows Server 2008 R1 runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware. For information on Windows Server 2008 R2, see Attachmate Products and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Beginning with the following versions, Attachmate products have been tested on Windows Server 2008 R1. If you encounter a problem while running with one of these or later versions of Attachmate products on Windows Server 2008 R1, contact Attachmate Technical Support.

These products work on both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, with the following qualifications:

  • Attachmate Java-based products run anywhere a Java virtual machine (VM) does, including 64-bit operating systems.
  • Reflection X version 14.x includes both 32- and 64-bit versions of Reflection X components for the Windows platform; the 64-bit components run natively on the x86-64 platform.
  • Reflection for Secure IT Windows Server includes both x86 and x86_64 packages.

Note: Attachmate suite products include many of the products listed in this technical note and others that are not supported on Microsoft Windows Server 2008. If you have an Attachmate suite product, see Technical Note 3000 to view the list of components in your suite product. Compare your product component(s) to the products listed above to determine if your product is supported on Microsoft Windows Server 2008.

Reflection for the Web and IIS 7 Integration

There is a known issue with integrating Reflection for the Web 2008 with IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Contact Attachmate Technical Support for information about a workaround.

Windows Help Program is Not Included with Windows Server 2008

Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with Windows. To open product help, you may need to install the Windows Help program. For additional information, see Technical Note 2294.

Attachmate Products and Windows Server 2008 R2

Windows Server 2008 R2 runs on 64-bit hardware.

The following lists summarize the status of product testing for the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform. As product versions currently under development are tested on Windows Server 2008 R2 and released, this technical note will be updated.
