This technical note describes support for DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) communication in Attachmate terminal emulation products.
DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) is a type of communications between Microsoft Windows applications. It was more commonly used in the early 1990s before the existence of COM (Component Object Model).
DDE is supported in Reflection version 14.0 and earlier (Windows-based emulation for IBM, HP, UNIX, and OpenVMS). This functionality can be disabled by group policy (see Technical Note 1819). EXTRA! X-treme, INFOConnect, KEA!, Reflection for the Web, and Reflection 2007 do not provide DDE support.
It is strongly recommended that you update your applications to use a newer API instead of DDE. For more information on programming with Attachmate products, see Technical Note 2183.
