Reflection for the Web version 9.5 through 9.x
Summary
This technical note lists the product enhancements introduced in Reflection for the Web version 9.5 and 9.6.
Note: Reflection for the Web 2008 is available beginning in June 2008. For a list of new features in Reflection for the Web 2008 R1, see Technical Note 2345. For information about purchasing Reflection for the Web, please e-mail us at: SalesRecept@attachmate.com.
Reflection for the Web version 9.6 includes the following new features:
- Unisys Terminal Emulation
Reflection for the Web provides T27 terminal emulation. Use your PC to connect to a Unisys ClearPath NX/LX series or A Series host as a T27 terminal.
Reflection for the Web provides T27 printer emulation. Use your PC to connect to a Unisys ClearPath NX/LX series or A Series host as a T27 printer.
- SiteMinder version support
SiteMinder versions 4 and 5 or higher are supported. Version 5 or higher supports specification of a SiteMinder host configuration file. For more information on integrating Reflection for the Web with SiteMinder, see Technical Note 1755.
Reflection for the Web can now operate in an IPv6 environment.
Reflection for the Web version 9.5 includes the following new features:
- Unisys UTS Terminal Emulation
Reflection for the Web provides Unisys UTS terminal emulation. Use your PC to connect to a host as a UTS terminal using the INT1 transport.
UTS emulation is optional in Reflection for the Web. Depending on your license agreement with Attachmate, it may not be enabled in your edition of the product. Contact your Attachmate sales representative or Attachmate Sales Support (800.872.2829) if you need to enable Reflection for the Web UTS emulation features.
- Management Server Data Replication
Use this feature to set up automated replication of configuration data between multiple management servers. A master management server updates all configured slave management servers with server configuration updates, including configured sessions.
For more information, see Technical Note 2174, Configuring Replication in Reflection for the Web 9.5 or Higher.
- Concurrent Administration
Multiple administrators can simultaneously edit settings for a single management server in different sections of the Administrative WebStation.
You can restrict client functionality at the menu, dialog box, and toolbar level rather than selecting from static categories for user access. Individual menu items, toolbars, and individual items on dialog boxes can be restricted for each session you create.
- OCSP Support for Secure Connections
Administrators can download, configure, and manage URLs of OCSP responders in emulation sessions and on the security proxy server. The Authority Information Access extension in a certificate is also supported.
The Reflection for the Web Emulator Class Library (ECL) is a Java-based, object-oriented set of classes and methods for developing web-based applets that access and integrate legacy host information. New classes have been added that make it easier to embed the Reflection for the Web terminal display in a Java application, add toolbar buttons, or create a toolbar to perform API tasks.
- SSH keyboard-interactive user authentication
SSH now supports multi-factor keyboard interactive authentication.
Reflection for the Web 9.5 is compatible with SiteMinder version 6.0.
