Technical Notes

This technical note provides information about running Attachmate products on Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and describes known issues when using Attachmate products and components in this environment. Links are also provided to additional technical notes that explain how to configure the Windows Firewall to permit Attachmate product connections.

Attachmate Products and Windows XP SP2

Attachmate has tested the current version of the following Attachmate products and components with Windows XP SP2 and has found no known issues. If any issues are identified, this note will be updated. Any associated product updates, if necessary, will be made only to the current version of Attachmate products. Attachmate does not plan to test or maintain earlier versions of products for use on Windows XP with SP2.

Attachmate Products with Known XP SP2 Issues

The following Attachmate products have known issues with Windows XP SP2.

Verastream Integration Broker

Attachmate has tested the current Verastream products and components with Windows XP SP2 and has found the issues listed below. If additional issues are identified, this note will be updated. Any associated product updates, if necessary, will be made only to the current version of Verastream. Attachmate does not plan to test or maintain earlier versions of Verastream for use on Windows XP with SP2.

Verastream Services Do Not Start Correctly

When a machine that already has Verastream Integration Broker 9.6 installed is upgraded to Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, or Windows Server 2003, Verastream services will not work correctly. This problem is solved by version 9.6 Patch 2 or higher, installed using the psetup.bat method, or version 9.7 or later.
