This technical note provides information about running EXTRA! X-treme, INFOConnect, and Reflection Windows-based products on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2003.

Note: In this technical note, "Microsoft Windows 64-bit operating systems" refers to the operating systems listed in the Applies To section of this note.

EXTRA! X-treme 9.x supports Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition. EXTRA! X-treme 9.1 or higher also supports 64-bit Windows 7.

INFOConnect 9.x supports 64-bit Windows 7.
Any associated product updates, if necessary, will be made only to the current version of INFOConnect. Attachmate does not plan to test or maintain earlier versions of INFOConnect for use on Windows x64 Editions.

Beginning with version 14.0, the following Reflection Windows-based 32-bit applications run on 64-bit versions of Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003.
64-bit Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008 R2 are supported beginning with Reflection 14.0 Service pack 7 (SP7).
Any associated product updates, if necessary, will be made only to the current version of Reflection. Attachmate does not plan to test or maintain earlier versions of Reflection for use on Windows x64 Editions.

Although 32-bit Windows applications can run on these platforms, only native 64-bit applications can take full advantage of their architecture, which processes more data per clock cycle, allows greater access to memory, and speeds numeric calculations.
The following Reflection products provide native 64-bit support for specific elements of the installation .
Reflection for IBM 2011 R2 or higher, Reflection for UNIX and OpenVMS 2011 R2 or higher, and Reflection Standard Suite 2011 R2 or higher use the 64-bit .NET Framework 4.0 Runtime on Windows 64-bit operating systems. Reflection 2011 R1 products use the 64-bit .NET Framework 3.0 Runtime on Windows 64-bit operating systems. (The Reflection 2011 setup.exe installer automatically installs the 64-bit .NET Framework if necessary; see Technical Note 2508 for more information.)
Beginning in Reflection 2011 R3, 64-bit Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 are supported.
Reflection for IBM 2008, Reflection for UNIX and OpenVMS 2008, and Reflection Standard Suite 2008 use the 64-bit .NET Framework 3.0 Runtime on Windows 64-bit operating systems. (The Reflection 2008 setup.exe installer automatically installs the 64-bit .NET Framework if necessary; see Technical Note 2383 for more information.)
Beginning in version 7.0, Reflection for Secure IT Windows Server includes a 64-bit server for x86-64 (on AMD x64 and Intel EM64T). Customers who need 64-bit support and are maintained for this product can download and install the Reflection for Secure IT Windows Server x86-64 file from the Attachmate Download Library. For details about platform support by product version, see Technical Note 1944.
Reflection X 2011 R3 and Reflection Suite for X R3 64-bit version contain Reflection X Advantage 4.2, a native 64-bit application. Reflection X 2011 R2 and Reflection Suite for X 2011 R2 64-bit version contain Reflection X Advantage 4.0, a native 64-bit application.
Beginning in version 14.0, a native 64-bit version of Reflection X for x64 Edition is also provided with Reflection X 14.x and Reflection Suite for X 14.x. Reflection X for x64 version 14.0 is designed to work with systems running Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition, and beginning in Reflection X 14.0 SP2, Windows Vista 64-bit editions.
Note the following:
One product component has a known issue with Microsoft Windows x64 Editions.
Reflection NFS Client (a Discontinued product as of October 2010) is not supported under Microsoft Windows x64 Editions. If you attempt to install Reflection NFS Client on this platform, an error is displayed: "The NFS Client cannot be installed on Windows Vista or 64-bit platform."
