Summary

When deploying a Verastream model to a remote Session Server (using activatemodel command) or opening a model in the Design Tool you may receive the error "Unrecognized command - Error on line [nnn]: UsesEventHandlers". This technical note explains how to resolve this error.

About the Error

You may receive the error "Unrecognized command - Error on line [nnnn]: UsesEventHandlers" in either of the following instances:

  • When deploying a Verastream model to a remote Session Server using the activatemodel command.
  • When opening a model in the Design Tool.

This error is displayed when you attempt to deploy or open a model that was saved with a newer version of Verastream Design Tool.

You may also see the error message ID 2584 in the logs, or when you click the Help button in Design Tool.

Resolving the Error

To resolve the problem, check the version of the Development Kit used to create the model, then upgrade your Server or Development Kit to this version (or higher) by installing the appropriate Verastream product release, service pack level, and/or patch.
