Symptoms

Package Installer is blank when displayed

Unable to install Packages via Package Installer

The Package Installer within the Management and Control Services (MCS) Console loads but only contains a tab labeled "Package Installation". No other information is shown in the Management Panel (right window pane).

Cause

The Package Installer does not display properly with the Sun Java Runtime Environment 5.0 (JRE 1.5.x).

Fix

Install and use Sun JRE 1.4.2 to properly display and use the Package Installer.

NOTE: The versions of MCS listed at the top of this document were fully tested with Sun JRE 1.4.2 prior to their release. Sun JRE 1.4.2_02 is included with these versions.There is no resolution at this time. Contact Attachmate Technical Support for more information.
