Error: "System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException"

Technical Note USA11957
Created 15-Sep-2005

Applies To
Synapta Services Builder for 3270 & 5250

Microsoft Windows 2003

Symptoms

Error: "System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException"

Error: "Additional Information: Server was unable to process request. --> Error configuring task server. 500006: Configuration from local file C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\cfg\TaskConfigurations.xml failed
Configuration -- serverAddress=localhost
Reason:
3000001: The session pool named [project name] cannot be found... [exception continues]"

Changes

Upgraded the Windows OS Service Pack

Cause

The default location of TaskConfigurations.xml file changes once the Windows OS Service Pack has been applied.

Prior to the Service Pack, the TaskConfigurations.xml file is created and read from "C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\cfg"

After the Service Pack is applied, the TaskConfigurations.xml file is created and read from "C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\cfg"

Fix

To workaround the issue, proceed as follows:

1) Using a text editor, open the file named C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\cfg\TaskConfigurations.xml
2) Edit the file so that the values for the "serverAddress" and "server" attributes are equal to the IP address or IP alias for the machine where the Runtime Service for screens is installed
3) Save and close TaskConfigurations.xml
4) Cycle (stop and restart) the ScreenConnectorProxyService Windows service
