Symptoms

Error: Machine: “x” cannot be added to Cluster: “y” (the two are not compatible).

Fix

Workaround:

1. Remove all the machines from the cluster
2. Delete the machines you want to add: In the “Unassigned Machines:” pane right-click each machine and delete it
3. Restart the MCSServiceAgent Windows Service or UNIX daemon on all the client machines
4. Click “Agent Clusters” node in the left pane to reload the Agent Clusters Management applet
5. All the agents should reappear in the “Unassigned Machines:” list.
6. Now you should be able to add them all to the Agent Cluster
